Chuck LeVinus
Chuck LeVinus started AZ DC Consulting with his partners after serving almost 23 years with the Phoenix Fire Department where he retired as a Fire Captain. During his firefighting career, Chuck was also Vice President of Government Affairs for the Professional Firefighters of Arizona (PFFAZ), an organization dedicated to representing the interests of more than 7,000 Arizona firefighters. While advocating for PFFAZ, Chuck interacted with federal, state, and local officials across both political parties, and shepherded legislation through the Arizona State Legislature that advocated for the needs of Arizona’s firefighters. Of note in 2021, Chuck played an instrumental role in securing $150M for the prevention and treatment of occupational cancers contracted by firefighters while protecting Arizonans.
During his firefighting career in 2008, Chuck was nominated by Phoenix Fire Department leadership for the United Fire Arizona Firefighter of the Year. While working with two junior firefighters, his crew and he forced entry and extinguished a fire in a 1930’s era downtown warehouse. After a search of the structure, they found and then extricated a victim in a timely manner which ensured his survival.
Chuck now focuses on securing funding for nonprofit organizations and protecting and promoting developing businesses with innovative technologies. His prior experience in numerous arenas helps him connect with people from all walks of life. Along with his more than two decades at the Phoenix Fire Department, Chuck has also taught and studied abroad, quarterbacked the Madrid Panteras to the Spanish American Football Championship in 1996, owned a small business, completed the Phoenix Rock and Roll Marathon, and twice swam from Alcatraz Island to the mainland in San Francisco Bay. He also produced, co-wrote, and acted in the independent low budget hit Never Been Thawed, the first Netflix Original Film.
Chuck attended West Virginia University on a football scholarship, earned two varsity letters, and played in the Fiesta Bowl for the National Championship against the University of Notre Dame. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with an emphasis in International Affairs.
Chuck speaks fluent Spanish, and enjoys coaching youth sports and traveling and doing anything adventurous with his wife Courtney and son Charlie.
